Ms. Ives is a partner in the firm of Cuddy & McCarthy, LLP.  Her primary practice areas are employment, public utilities, telecommunications, education, public school bonds and finance, Indian Law, insurance defense and civil rights law and litigation. 

Ms. Ives obtained her B.A. from Whittier College, California in 1979.  She obtained her J.D. in 1983 from the University of Southern California, where she was a member of the Hale Moot Court Honors Program.

Ms. Ives served as law clerk to the Honorable William F. Riordan of the New Mexico Supreme Court from 1983 to 1985. From 1985 to 1987, she served as Assistant Attorney General, representing the Telecommunications Staff of the New Mexico State Corporation Commission.  She also served as Assistant Attorney General advising the New Mexico State Corporation Commission on telecommunications matters.

Ms. Ives� state professional associations include the State Bar of New Mexico, the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association and the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association.  She served as a member of the State Bar of New Mexico Task Force on Minority Involvement in the Profession.  Her national professional associations include the American Bar Association, the National Hispanic Bar Association, the Council of School Attorneys of the National School Boards Association, and the National Organization on Legal Problems in Education.  Ms. Ives is a member of the Navajo Nation Bar Association, and has served as a member of the Navajo Nation Bar Association Training Committee since 2006.

Ms. Ives is admitted to practice before the state courts of New Mexico, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court, and all courts of the Navajo Nation. Ms. Ives also represents clients regularly before the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and other state, federal and tribal agencies and commissions.

Born and raised in Northern New Mexico, Ms. Ives is fluent in Spanish, and is active in local non-profit organizations.  She has been a member of the Santa Fe Community Foundation�s Board of Directors and is Chair of its Legal Committee.
