Ms. Peyton joined Cuddy & McCarthy, LLP in April 2005.  Her main areas of practice are education and employment law.  Prior to joining the Cuddy & McCarthy Firm, she was an associate with the firm of Bergeson & Eliopoulos in San Jose, California where she practiced intellectual property, employment, and complex commercial litigation.  She began her legal career as a Deputy District Attorney with the Office of the District Attorney in Santa Clara County, California, prosecuting criminal and family support actions in jury trials, bench trials, and hearings in federal, state, and administrative law courts.  Ms. Peyton has conducted eleven jury trials as well as numerous bench trials and appeals.

During law school, Ms. Peyton was Editor-In-Chief of the Santa Clara Law Review and a member of the school=s National Trial Team.  She was awarded a School of Law Merit Scholarship, the Order of Barristers (for outstanding trial advocacy skills), and four American Jurisprudence Awards.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Peyton worked in the technical publications field for 11 years.  She served as a technical editor, a technical writer, and a technical publications department manager and director for several Silicon Valley firms.  She received her B.A. in music, and she taught in elementary and secondary schools for four years before beginning her work in technical publications. 

Ms. Peyton is admitted to practice before the state courts of New Mexico and California, the United States District Courts for New Mexico and for the Northern District of California, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
